12 years visiting Puerto Vallarta has been great. 
Mayan Palace time share has been good to us. Would'nt go if not for the time share. Best of times both at the Marina and Neuavo locations. Next week we go to a new  experience. We will stay at a little 16 room hotel called Los Cuatro Vientos, right downtown P.V., close to all the local activities. I'll let you know what it's like for my wife and myself to forsake the fancy resorts, with no buffets, and no T.V. , and no room service, hanging out with the locals, near the end of Feb, 2008, when we get back.  I've heard good things about the hotel. Here is their web site. www.cuatrovientos.com Check it out. The owners name is Gloria, and it's being managed by the grandson Chad right now. I've got a feeling we will give up the fancy places, for the down to earth experiance. I'll let you know.
