Raleigh/Durham The area dubbed the ”Triangle” in the 1950's is outlined by the base cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, which comprise the points of a triangle when viewed on a map. Back then, local dignitaries and businessmen were trying to lure businesses to Research Triangle Park (RTP) in the hopes of boosting the sagging local economy. Little did those visionaries know that, in time, RTP would be held up as a global business model and the Triangle would receive kudos from Fortune Magazine as being one of the best places to live and work in the nation.
