Brazil) What a gem !I have been to Recife a couple of times in the last 5 years. First time being in Recife well here are a couple of things I would reccomend. If you are looking to go to the beach you can go to Boa Viagem. Boa Viagem main street/avenue in Recife is where you can go to the beach participate in Carnival with Brazilians. Brazil) What a gem !I have been to Recife a couple of times in the last 5 years. First time being in Recife well here are a couple of things I would reccomend. If you are looking to go to the beach you can go to Boa Viagem. Boa Viagem main street/avenue in Recife is where you can go to the beach participate in Carnival with Brazilians. The Carnival comes down that street if you are there at that time. You can expect some nightlife in Boa Viagem. Also another great place to visit would be Olinda. At night there are spots in Recife Antigo (old recife) that have little bars with tables and chairs outside and some great music and nightlife. I decided that this year I would go explore parts of the interior of Recife. This year I went to Tamandare which is over 1hr drive from Recife. I went with my family and stayed at a great All-Inclusive resort called Baia Branca Beach Resort (www.baiabranca.com.br). I did a search on the web and found this great place. The service was great. The resort was very quaint and they definitely exceeded my expectations. But don't take my word for it check it out. The beach in Tamandare is beautiful. I actually stayed at the resort twice. The first time that year I went with the family and the second time with some friends. If you get a chance to go there you can definitley take a beautiful landscape picture of the beach. The ocean waters are warm. Not a beach person the resort also has a great pool. In the morning it was great to walk on the beach the kids got to see the fisherman pull shrimp out of the ocean. For those interested in the wildlife there is a place called Ibama. Check it out you will be quite impressed. For those who are more active you can go horse-back riding on the beach take boat trips out on the ocean. One of the things my kids loved doing was snorkeling. THere were some great coral reefs. I am due for another trip in february staying at the same resort. For the price and the serenity how can you go wrong.
