This was my second visit to Iceland. My first I went solo and had a great time. The country is beautiful and very safe. The people are very friendly and gorgeous. I did the all out touristy thing. I filled all of my time with a tour or an excursion. The Golden Circle Tour is a must as well as the Blue Lagoon experience. I also had a massage that was the best I have ever had and get this......no tipping.
My second visit was with my high school buddy. I took him for a late birthday gift.

Having traveled to 22 different countries & 35 states, I love to travel. It's great fun to meet local people, experience a taste of their cultures thru art, food ,dancing etc.
I spent 18 months in Iceland while serving in the military. As polite & diplomatic as I could be (I even learned several icelandic phrases) Most every native in any country is complemented if a tourest makes an effort to learn even a little bit of their native language. i sadly didnt make a single friend in Iceland. was ok. An experience not to be missed, but unless you are a hiker, once is probably enough. We arrived in early August 2007 on a Sunday, and left Tuesday afternoon. Monday was a bank holiday, so almost everything was closed. We took a very nice tour, but we were shoulder-to-shoulder in the bus. The tour stopped at several tourist-trap shops. The scenery was spectacular in its ruggedness. The prices were outrageously high. The Blue Lagoon was worth the whole trip. A place not to miss, a
