Magical, Mystical Iceland

I wanted to do something special for my 40th birthday so my hubby & I went to Iceland. What a surreal country. Even though it was the end of October and I don't particularly like cold-weather vacations, it was well worth it and I dream of the day I can return. I tell others Iceland was like Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland and the moon all in one! The Thingveslir (sp?) Park was incredible. It felt like no man's land (where the tectonic plates meet). Interested in a different kind of horseback riding experience. Iceland is the place. The Icelandic Pony is unique and riding there fantastic. Only scheduled a half day ride but it was unique and enjoyed every minute. Blue Lagoon is something that should not be missed. ... Read Full Review | Report This

I have visited Iceland a few times. It is very expensive to stay there. They take pride in there food presentation, looks almost too good to eat. You haven't lived Iceland until you stay over a weekend. Heavy Partying all weekend by all ages. ... Read Full Review | Report This

The friendliest people in the world!

I visited Iceland as a student, and found the culture to be so facsinating and the people so incredibly friendly that I have been back several times since then. Icelandair flies from the US to many destinations in Europe, via a stop in Reykjavik. Unless it has changed recently, Icelandair allows you to layover for up to 3 days in Iceland before continuing to your final destination, so you should definitely check out this amazing island on your way to any of many other European destinations.
