This was my second visit to Iceland. My first I went solo and had a great time. The country is beautiful and very safe. The people are very friendly and gorgeous. I did the all out touristy thing. I filled all of my time with a tour or an excursion. The Golden Circle Tour is a must as well as the Blue Lagoon experience. I also had a massage that was the best I have ever had and get this......no tipping. My second visit was with my high school buddy. I took him for a late birthday gift. Both visits were in February. I can't complain about the weather as I am from Boston. My concierge has informed me that I lucked out to have had 10++++ weather both visits as the weather has been known to change at the drop of a hat from rain to sleet to snow. I never saw this. On my recent visit, I did the horseback riding through lava fields and mountains. This was amazing. We also did the Golden Circle tour and the Blue Lagoon. We took the Northern Lights tour and really got to see the phenomenon. The worst part of the trip was that the exchange rate from US dollar to Icelandic kroner is horrible. Just don't expect to make this a shpping trip and you will be just fine. I didn't do the club hoping thing but I heard that the nghtlife is a must experience thing. Icelandic people don't go out until midnight and party until 7-8am. Wear black to the clubs and bars to fit in and drink before you go out to save some money. I highly recommend this trip. Icelandair has great deals if you can travel midweek. Tell them Annette sent you:)
