iCELAND -FIRE & ICE-LAND OF CONTRASTS
I spent a facinating year in this wonderful land of extreemes and want to return . I saw far more than the blue lagoon, golden circle and nightclubs. yes, it is expensive , yes icelanders are proud people that dont care one way or another that your an american ( and they can tell right away) clean air , very safe , small and easy to get around ( in cities) plenty of awsome virgin scenery- dress out doorsy-except for clubs /restaraunts- more formal.yes weather can be tough sometimes - thats why its cheaper after labor day& before june . summer is time of high prices. dress for wet, changing weather . weather jokes must have got their start here -very rapid changes. Grimsey island is very remote . yes, they like their HORSES ( do not call them ponies!!) no tipping - actually offends them.many museums to check out their history which goes way back. one of the last great places left.
