I've been to Rimini twice and have grown to love this city on the eastern coast of Italy. It's a fairly small, unpretentious beach town with very friendly people and great food. The easiest way to get to Rimini is on a train from Bologna. Besides the beach and pubs there's not a whole lot going on, which is exactly the way everyone likes it. I wouldn't recommend visiting Italy only for this town, but it's a great place to relax if you're already in the country. You can also catch a boat not too far from Rimini that will carry you over to Croatia if you're feeling especially adventurous.
