My husband and I along with our 3 kids...ages 20, 24 and 25 had recently visited Rome for the 2nd time. The first time was on a cruise (stopped there for the day) and we did the fast tour of everything we could in 1 day. This time we were going to be there for 3 days and wanted to see certain things without repeating too much of what we already did. The first time was on a cruise (stopped there for the day) and we did the fast tour of everything we could in 1 day. This time we were going to be there for 3 days and wanted to see certain things without repeating too much of what we already did. We wanted to do something private and not with a big group, so I started to research. I came across this GREAT tour group called Italy HotLine Private Tours. Sienna Reid was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We communicated through e-mail and I ended up booking a few different tours with her. One of the best things, besides being very professional, sweet and courteous, was that she was not pushy. Although they did have a few set tours to choose from, she totally customized everything we wanted to do. The tour guide Annie was a sweetheart. She was so friendly and very knowledgable and really felt us all out and immediatly picked up on the things that were important to us and the things that were not so important!! She was extremely flexible and even changed some things for us as we went along. We saw so much more with Annie than we ever would have on our own...and at our own pace. She even gave us suggestions of places to go after our tours were over. After our stay in Rome, we were heading up to Tuscany to meet some more family members. Sienna arranged for us to have a tour guide drive us there. Amir was just wonderful (and hilarious!) and stopped at a few beautiful sites on the way. He even knew a great little local hide away place where we stopped for lunch. I would highly highly highly! recommend and would definitly use Italy Hotline tours again in the future if we are lucky enough to return to Italy. We were there for 11 days, and our tours in Rome were without a doubt the highlight of our trip...thanks to Sienna, Annie and Amir!

I've been to Rome every year for the past four years and it never gets old. There's so much to see and do that one vacation trip is not enough to thoroughly absorb the Eternal City's magnificence. Of course some people will complain about the crowds or the grafitti but so what - you're in one of the greatest cities that ever existed! I've done the monuments the Vatican Museum and major churches and the "Roman Holiday" tour (actually walking in the courtyard of Via Margutta 51). I've visited the shopping district thrown 3 coins into the Trevi Fountain and sat on the Spanish Steps. Rome is a perfect base for exploring all of Italy as I've also been to Ostia Antica Tivoli Florence Naples Capri Pompeii and Venice. You will never be bored in Rome. And the food is FANTASTIC!

My wife and I have been to Rome twice. We are planing to return there in April or May 2009. It is a fantastic friendly wonderful place to vacation. We both love history and are truly fascinated with everything there. We are planing to take another couple with us this year. They are estatic to be able to go. Italy can be expensive if you don't know how to travel but we have mastered that. You could spend months there and not see but a very small portion of Rome. We intend to make it a regular vac... More

Sienna Reid made the booking process so easy. I explained to her that I would be traveling with an older couple as well as a four year old. She assured me that the guide would personalize the tour to meet our needs: both the physical challenges and keeping a four year old interested. Their guides are all English speaking and will customize tours based on your interests. Sienna set up payment through paypal which was very helpful too.

Our guide Anne met us at our hotel and we began our journey. Anne is from the U.S. and fell in love with Rome after a semister abroad. Her knowledge and passion for the arts brought such deep perspective to our tour! She pointed out so many things we would've missed on our own. And because it was a private tour we could stop off for gelato or a quick shopping purchase whenever the mood struck. Anne knew little tips and tricks that helped us avoid long lines. And when we needed to call in the help of a driver for day two it was handled promptly and efficiently. The van was new clean and very comfortable.

I would highly recommend booking a private group tour with ItalyHotline. www.italyhotline.com
