Salmiyah, Kuwait Reviews and Ratings

In 2003 I lived in Salmiyah for month while teaching at the Kuwait American School. I had a terrific time there. Like all of Kuwait it is the SUV capital of the world. When I woke the first morning I was in country the public prayer broakcast told me There were many Western's in the area. The Sulton Center was a market there which had anything that you could possible need. The people there are fairly friendly but extremely protective of the cultureral and religious life. While I did a lot more walking there than I was use to there was also good public transportation (city bus). I also made a quick relationshi9p with a taxi driver who hauled me all over Kuwait. I never had difficulty with the language barrier. Just about everyone spoke English to some degree. Being introducted to different if not harsh culture it made the landing much softer in Salmiya.
