San Antonio is a definitive tourist town with many San Antonio Hotels. It marries the past and the present together, without diminishing either. San Antonio is perhaps most known for the Alamo, a mission turned last-stand fort against the Mexican army. The Alamo is prominently displayed on the edge of downtown, and is opened to tourists daily. San Antonio is filled with many more activities, and fun for the whole family. The Riverwalk is a hugely popular spot. It is a tree-lined pathway alongside the San Antonio River where both lovers and tourists walk. The Riverwalk is sprinkled with little cafes and street performers. Along the narrow river, boats filled with Mexican music bands serenade those on the walk. It's a lovely atmosphere, and definitely one to be in during the night.
San Antonio Hotels embrace San Antonio's romantic, laid-back atmosphere. For those who want to be near the action, the Marriot Rivercenter is one of the closest hotels to the Riverwalk. Another popular hotel in San Antonio is the Omni La Mansion del Rio. This hotel is also on the Riverwalk and features 19th century architecture.
Other San Antonio hotels include the Westin Riverwalk and the Westin La Cantera Resort. The Westin Riverwalk is located downtown, in the heart of the city, and the Westin La Cantera Resort is on the outskirts of San Antonio, in hill country. Also located in the hills is the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. The Hyatt features a 27 hole championship golf course.
Aside from the world-class shopping available in San Antonio, tourists may want to visit the McNay Art Museum, Sea World, and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. This city is filled with fantastic cuisine, a blend of cultures, and a nod to history that appeals to the explorer and the student. San Antonio is a must see for all.
