1.Just a pass-through

San Isidro is the largest town in the southern valley of Costa Rica. I really is just a market town for the surrounding areas with not much to recommend it. There is a pretty nice farmer's market on Thursdays and Fridays but only for produce and fruit and the like. Don't be looking for local crafts or art. For the casual visitor or tourist, you will only be passing through San Isidro on your way to other destinations such as Dominical (see Villa Helena www.rainforestvilla.com for a wonderful place to stay near Dominical), Mt. Chirripo, the southern zone or la Cerra de la Muerte. All that said, for people living within an hour of this important area town, it is the main supply center. Don't stay overnight here if you don't have to: there are much more interesting places to stay within a very short distance.
