We had a blast in Manuel Antonio. Although it's touristy, there are so many activities to choose from that you'll definitely want to make sure you have the right guidebook. We used RUM & REGGAE'S COST RICA. It covered everything we needed, including Manuel Antonio's barely existent nightlife. Anyway, the beaches here are beautiful, untamed, and have incredibly warm water. The bottom line: Manuel Antonio State Park is a must see. The hotels in this area are great and do not intefere with the envi ... Read Full Review | Report This

We actually spent very little time in San Jose. We landed there from Los Angeles, and headed west to the town of Tamarindo. It's a small area perfect for surfers and beach goers. You can plan a day trip of fishing, or join a party boat, and spend the day snorkling, kayaking, and enjoying the ocean. The house we stayed was up on a hill, and you had a great view of the Pacific Ocean from the infinity pool that was in the back. There was also a great view of the town at night...enjoying everything ... Read Full Review | Report This

I went to Costa Rica with my husband in Aug 04, and had the most amazing time. We flew into San Jose, but did not spend any time there. We took a puddle jumper out to Quepos, and then a taxi to Manuel Antonio, where we stayed for a week. We stayed at Villas Nicolas - http://villasnicolas.com/ -- really amazing rates, service, and views. The hotel helped us with reservations for horsebackriding, zip-line, hikes, and figuring out how to get around. Our room was amazing! we had a kitchen, and huge ... Read Full Review | Report This
