1.Costa Rica Vacation

We are having a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The food is very good. Our travel agency Ivantours Costa Rica designed a nice itinerary. The service at Turtle Beach Lodge, Tortuguero was spectacular!. El Silencio Lodge is in a quiet valley surrounded by verdant, green, misty mountains only 1.15 hours from San Jose, Arenal. The restaurant staff accommodated our special meal requests. The chef will give you a tour of the garden if you ask. The hiking trails are well laid out and lead to 3 waterfalls... More

The chef will give you a tour of the garden if you ask. The hiking trails are well laid out and lead to 3 waterfalls on the acreage. Many tours are available in the area including zip lining, white water rafting, Arenal or Poas volcanoes and horseback riding to name a few.

San Jose is not a nice city to stay, but I liked the zoo, where the animals seemed poorly cared for but so beautiful.

The San Jose Marriott is actually ********** rather close to the airport, The hotel grounds are beautiful with pools, and a "hut" where you can get massaged. Check the web site of our Costa Rica Travel Agency, the service and the tours are great.

We had a blast in Manuel Antonio. Although it's touristy there are so many activities to choose from that you'll definitely want to make sure you have the right guidebook. We used RUM & REGGAE'S COST RICA. It covered everything we needed including Manuel Antonio's barely existent nightlife. Anyway the beaches here are beautiful untamed and have incredibly warm water. The bottom line: Manuel Antonio State Park is a must see. The hotels in this area are great and do not intefere with the environment in the least. The restaurants are simple but serve perfect native seafood in casual surroundings. They are the perfect complement after a day of ziplining whitewater rafting hiking or just hanging out on the beach.

5.Tamarindo Costa Rica is what Mexico was 15 years ago

On the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica close to Nicaragua is Tamarindo. It's in the Guanacaste region. Such an incredible surf town with all the charm of a rustic Costa Rica. First you have to fly from San Jose on the smallest plane in the world (kept my eyes closed most of the time). The runway is a dirt road with the potential of cattle walking on it at any given time. First you have to fly from San Jose on the smallest plane in the world (kept my eyes closed most of the time). The runway is a dirt road with the potential of cattle walking on it at any given time. Rent a 4X4 or else you'll be sorry because the roads are so horrible. There's a monster big sinkhole in the middle of town that's always filled with brown water but that's part of Tamarindo's charm. The sunsets are exquisite the Imperials are cheap and cold and surfers abound. Food is crap throughout Tamarindo with the exception of one restaurant (Las Palmas I think) owned by an incredibly gorgeous Norwegian woman. One night the power went out in the entire town. So we sat drinking Imperials with 6 inch long grashoppers buzzing past us until it came back on. When it did the entire town started cheering. That is Costa Rica.
