We actually spent very little time in San Jose. We landed there from Los Angeles, and headed west to the town of Tamarindo. It's a small area perfect for surfers and beach goers. You can plan a day trip of fishing, or join a party boat, and spend the day snorkling, kayaking, and enjoying the ocean. The house we stayed was up on a hill, and you had a great view of the Pacific Ocean from the infinity pool that was in the back. There was also a great view of the town at night...enjoying everything while it was lit up, is something not everyone gets to do in the big cities.
