I have been to San Pedro several times I must say it is my little heaven. The beaches are beautiful (even at the cheaper hotels) it is very safe (food and crime wise) prices are great the reef is amazing and the people are wonderful. Each time I get home from San Pedro I feel homesick to go back! I have gone once in June which is considered \Wet season\ and it rained an hour each day but it didn't stop us one bit. Each time I get home from San Pedro I feel homesick to go back! I have gone once in June which is considered \Wet season\ and it rained an hour each day but it didn't stop us one bit. During the rain storms we explored the island and found enough trouble to keep us busy all day! Met several locals which we will consider forever friends who I cannot wait to see again. If you are looking for a relaxing pampered trip or an exciting adventure you can find both on San Pedro.

San Pedro on Ambergris Cay is a happening place after you spend some time thereand learn your way around. It is easy to reach by plane or boat from Belize City and well worth the trip. The second largest barrier reef in the world is located off the coast making diving and fishing phenomenal. New condo and beach development create an atmosphere of a place where you ... More

This area is develping rapidly and reminds me of Key West FL about 15 years ago. It has a lot of Beach and Island room to grow. The second largest barrier reef in the world is located off the coast making diving and fishing phenomenal. New condo and beach development create an atmosphere of a place where you want to vacation or invest. Every time I visit San Pedro I find myself wanting to return as soon as possible. Two other plus factors are an English speaking population and a fixed one dollar American to two dollars Belizean. Make sure you try the Beliken Beer and partake of the many restuarants around the island. Travel is mostly by golf cart! This is an adventure in itself as you can travel north to remote areas of the island.
