I visited seoul in the spring time. April 08. The pollution was horrible. i had allergy problems. i could smell sewer everywhere i went. we didnt have a vehicle so we rode the city bus. the tour bus was nice but never on schedule. The traffic is horrible and the drivers jerk the shifter way too hard so not good if you get motion sickness. it was nice to see another country but i was not impressed.... More

Having lived in Korea for the past two years Korea offers a multitude of cultural and exploratory adventure. There is so much to see and do here on the Peninsula. Jeju Island the many temples Chinhae Pohang and Gampo offer breath taking vista's beyond your imagination. If you visit Korea get out of the Metropolitan area's and travel maps are easy to read and follow. ... More

I highly recommend visiting Seoul. There is enough English around to make it possible to self-navigate but having a native speaker along is best. Plenty of English speaking tours are available. You realize when visiting Seoul that the USA isn't as superior in technological advancement as you might think. It is crowded but has an excellent transportation system. The food and shopping are excellent and fascinating. Hotels are nice and tours of the DMZ and various historic sites are plentiful. ... More

The old and new of the architecture standing side by side is breathtaking. It is also worth remembering that Seoul - all of South Korea for that matter - was dust and rubble in the 1960s. Now you see opulence and economic success everywhere. Shop for Chanel in its underground mall; ride the coaster in its world's largest indoor amusement park Lotte World. Lots of music and theater festivals and outdoor markets. The airport is stunning.Don't forget to try one of their bath houses that are far more than just baths; mineral baths mud baths nap rooms saunas therapeutic rooms with jade and other heated stones you lie in. All for less than 10 bucks.
