THE ASIAN MEDITERRANEAN 
In Singapore, much like the Mediterranean, you must try to get a bad meal. The food is excellent. Singapore has many interesting sights, including the National Zoo, Sentosa Island, and the National Asian Museum. If you like shopping, there are mall throughout the city with the ubiquitous food courts. Especially interesting is Vivo City and Doby Ghaut.
The people are varied, with Chinese, Indians, Malaysians and Westerners. People are very polite. 
Singapore has the best public transportation of all the cities in Asia I have visited; Beijing is a close second. 
The city is very safe. It is a great city to vacation in.
