Somerset Bridge Hamilton, Bermuda

Somerset Bridge

Somerset Road , Sandys Parish

Hamilton, Bermuda

phone: +1 441 234 0914

This tiny bridge was one of three constructed in the 1600s on Bermuda. When the drawbridge rises for marine traffic, it opens only 22-inches to allow for passing sailboats to get through, making it the smallest of its kind in the world. The much-photographed bridge links Somerset Island to the rest of Bermuda in the northwest. Ferries stop at the bridge from Hamilton and the structure marks the beginning of the historic Bermuda Railway Trail.
