We went to The Golden Lemon for our honeymoon in 1990 and it was undoubtedly the most romantic and secluded place my husband and I have ever been. The quaint 2 story villas with the tin roofs were perfect and having our own private pool that opened off from our living roon was an added plus. We loved hearing the rain on the tin roof and seeing the neighboring islands of St. Lucia and Nevis from our bedroom windows. Even though we were their in June , the trade winds were just enough to keep us cool and we loved having our windows and doors open to get the breeze coming thru and the sound of the waves from the ocean.. Every morning our breakfast was delivered to the patio by our pool and we feasted on the incredible breakfast we had chosen the night before. The food was very different and delicous....a truly gourmet meal. Mr. Arthur Leaman is the best host and is a lovely person. He has owned this Inn since the l960's and does an outstanding job on keeping the place well manicured and uniquely decorated with authentic period antiques. Dinner was served either outdoors on the lovely veranda or in the elegant dining room. Expertly prepared gourmet foods, using the freshest local ingredients, were served each night, along with an excellent selection of wines. The staff was capable and courteous and always willing to go the extra mile. Soloman, Mr. Leamans right hand man, picks you up from the airport and will take you to see the different sections of the island. The day trip to the mountains to see the green monkeys was nice and the Golden Lemon packed a wonderful lunch for us. You can also go scuba diving at the site, relax by your own pool or by the Inn's pool, read from Mr. Leamans incredible selection of books in the library, play games or tennis, or just sit on the beach and watch the sunset. At night, the sound of the tree frogs and the beauty of seeing all the stars is such a treat. We went back for our 5th anniversary and plan to go back soon.
