St Croix - the "middle" virgin

St Croix is the middle virgin. Not as "americanized" (I know, it is a US territory) with a McDonalds every 3 blocks and everybody after your $ as in St Thomas but more developed than the little virgin, St John's. We have been going to St C for over 30 years, having spent our honeymoon at the Grand Ol' Lady of the island, the Buccaneer Hotel. You get the best of both worlds here. You get the mountains and the beach in the same place.They have beatiful weather too. if you like to dive ,one of the deepest trenches in the world withjn walking distances from cane bay dive shop. the snorkling is great all around the island. really the only problem i had was with the locals,but then again isn't that common every where.still i will return this spring ,i love the trench and the turtles that nest there ... My husband and I went there 2 years ago on our honeymoon, and loved it!!! We stayed at the Carabola Beach Resort on the northwest part of the island. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at the hotel. We did rent a jeep for our stay an explored every inch of the island. There are parts that are not as nice as the others but we felt pretty safe. The shop owners in Christianstead were extremely friendly. As someone who lived there for several months it was not at all what it looks like. Ther are parts of it you are better off staying away from. They only take you to the places they want you to see or that are safe for you to visit. I saw things that were not very attractive. ... Read Full Review | Report This
