My family and I lived in STL for two year. Are favorite thing to do was go to the zoo... Its open year round and on nice days in the winter when we went no one was there. It was the best... Also another great free thing to do it to see a production at the Muny in Forest Park... You have to get there early to get free seats but they are the best seats in the house! And you can't beat a great Cardinals Game either!
