This stadium was built in 1982 for the Triestina team which was hoping to get into the big leagues. It now hosts C Series games and is waiting for the city's team to make a big comeback. This stadium remains however a jewel of sporting engineering. It cost around EUR 75 million and can contain around 35,000 spectators. All the local sporting federations and a modern medical center now form part of the building. They also host large concerts and demonstrations (although there have been few). Make sure you do not get confused with the Stadio Grezar. This older stadium is now used for small league football and light athletics. It is only a short walk away from the new stadium.
