There's always something fun to do the people couldn't be nicer the nightly sunsets are breathtaking the city is rich in history and the original bungalows add a wonderful flavor to the town and the cost of living is low. Fitting in here is easy because everyone is from somewhere else--in fact a common story is that people came to visit and decided to stay. Maybe you will too!

We booked our trip on line through Orbitz.com. The room was what they said it was to be and just fine. No suprizes. The car we booked through them from Budget Rent A Car that was suppose to be $128.00 for the 4 days we had it. When we got to the airport it came out to $268.00. All the taxes and hidden add ons were not eplained when we picked up the car. My was I disapointed but we were in a hurry to catch a flight.

Please beware of rental car rip-offs. Ask for a price in and out of the rental agreement it could save you a lot of frustration and $$$!

I live in West Palm Beach but I'd pick the Bay Area - or almost anyplace in Central Florida - instead. Why? REAL cities and towns with some history for one thing. Nice laid-back Old Florida friendliness and very few yuppies for another. Tampa St. Pete (as it's universally known) and even Orlando are very much Middle America without the snow but WITH lakes trees and even actual neighbourhoods where you can still do some sightseeing and even walk to stores and restaurants without being hassled by ... Tampa St. Pete (as it's universally known) and even Orlando are very much Middle America without the snow but WITH lakes trees and even actual neighbourhoods where you can still do some sightseeing and even walk to stores and restaurants without being hassled by the local Keystone Kops. In \The Palm Beaches\ alas there's more than enough attitude to make up for the lack in altitude - along with enough walled and gated \communities\ to make me think I've stumbled onto a kind of tropical pre-1989 Berlin only here they speak Spanish Creole and New Yawkese instead of German. Oy vay!

My title says it all. Love it or leave it. I love it. For those of you who complain about high cost of houses and high crime well I do not think you are looking very hard for a good area to live in. My title says it all. Love it or leave it. I love it. For those of you who complain about high cost of houses and high crime well I do not think you are looking very hard for a good area to live in. Like all major cities Tampa and the surrounding cities have their own \bad neighborhoods\. I have traveled all over the world and feel Tampa and the surrounding communities are some of the best places to live. I live about 30 minutes outside Tampa. People complain about parking at the beaches well again how hard you are looking. Do a little research and find out where the locals go. I never have to hunt down a parking place when I go to the beach which is often. In addition someone said there are little opportunities for employment. I have a question for you. Just how bad do you want a job? Because I see help wanted signs all over the place. I believe you make your world the way you want it. If you only see negative and bad things about a place then yes you are going to have a bad time. Make your trip and your life positive and you will be happy. Trust me I have travel to really low economic and seedy places and still find the highlights and good times. Relax and don’t forget to watch the sun set.
