Most of the park is under the canopy of the rain forest-lots of cool shade. We had no problems with Mosquitos. The temples and pyramids are amazing. You get a chance to see a lot of Mayans in their native dress (traje). My 5 year old loved seeing the monkeys and other creatures of the rain forest. There is a lot of walking and climbing but plenty of opportunity to rest at each ruin. There is a spectacular view at the top of the temples. A wonderful experience for anyone who likes culture or history. Despite reports of crime in the park we felt very safe there.
