As usual Traverse City is a nice place to go when the autumn colors are in their prime. I stayed at the Travelodge which served my purpose with a no frills clean and comfortable room. The Dennos Art Museum is one not be missed because of its fabulous Inuit (Eskimo) art exhibit - surely one of the best in the world. There was also an exhibit of gold artifacts from Central America worthwhile looking at. Dinner at Shelde's and the top of the Park Place Hotel were good. The view from the latter ... More

Please don't tell anyone about our wonderful area. It's bad enough that all the tourists are here in the summer water sports Cherry Festival Film Festival but now the whole world will want to come here. I live here and wouldn't trade it for the world. Used to live in the metro Detroit area and that's a nice place to be from. Almost like Lake Tahoe but without the mountains. Wouldn't trade this place for anything!!!!!!... More
