Just returned from our third trip in five years to Tybee Island Ga. It is really a hidden jewel. The beach is one of the best we have ever been to. Clean white sand, beautiful dunes,and great sunsets. Many days we were swimming alongside dolphins. Renting a house is fairly inexpensive and most rent for a miminum of three days. Just returned from our third trip in five years to Tybee Island Ga. It is really a hidden jewel. The beach is one of the best we have ever been to. Clean white sand, beautiful dunes,and great sunsets. Many days we were swimming alongside dolphins. Renting a house is fairly inexpensive and most rent for a miminum of three days. It is a fisherman's paradise whether you fish from the dock or go out in a boat. In late June it was 90-95 but there was always a breeze blowing and the evenings were wonderful for walking the beach. It is a place to play games, read and just relax. The restuarants are okay (If you go you must try the Breakfast Club - best waffle (either plain or pecan I have ever had) however Savannah is about 30 minutes away and has many wonderful restuarants. Also, the grocery store on the island if very small , but going towards Savannah there are a couple of bigger ones. Tybee does not have a lot of glitz but an atmosphere that you can really relax in. In addition there is a lot of history on the island and in Savannah.
