Sedona

Sedona has evolved from a small agricultural community into an artist's sanctuary and a tourist's dream. Four major regions offer significant contributions to Greater Sedona. You'll find lovely accommodations and year-round comfort with more than 40 galleries, unique shops and countless attractions.

Village of Oak Creek/Chapel Area

Located on the southernmost end of Sedona is Oak Creek, a village that offers premiere galleries, shops and a superb shopping experience at the charming Tlaquepaque, a recreated Mexican village. The Sedona Golf Resort offers fine dining at the Grill at Shadow Rock. This area is also called the Chapel area, due to the proximity to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The Village area offers upscale dining, golf, tennis, shopping and accommodations including the Poco Diablo Resort, the suites at DoubleTree and Wildflower Inn.

The fiery-hued rock formations you'll find in this area include the famous Bell Rock, with its energy vortex, close to the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

WOW ! It is a truly peaceful place. Only visit if you want to leave your computer & cell phones behind. You must visit the church. When you first walk in all you see are clouds.
I got chills. Also visit the vortex ( energy fields ) I can't explain it. Almost eerie. ... More

Terrific honeymoon spot for 40 plus crowd. Very relaxing peaceful and spiritual. Vortex walks very calm and worth the time. Town itself a bit commercialized but in a nice way with little pressure to buy or do anything.... More

Sedona has gotten so crowded with lines of visitors cars trying to get in and get out . The number of developments with all the new money people coming in to just use the naturalness is crazy. Sitting at a coffee shop overlooking Oak Creek a few weeks ago a lady sitting next to us with a real estate agent was anguishing whether she should use her husband's money to buy a place in Sedona or on a beach in California. Intent to me is large and there's a lot of misdirected intent out there without seeing the future. I hope Sedona with all the increase in construction water use light pollution exhaust pollution and proclivity to being overused period survives for our future.
