Anna Maria island is a perfect vacation spot for families. It's laid back style is perfect for a truly relaxing vacation. Sure you can go to Orlando which is just 2 hours away...we ran up in the morning and came back at night...wow that was a tough day. But we just went back to the gorgeous white beach and relaxed the following day. Anna Maria is a perfect spot to recharge and reconnect with family. Restaurants and things to do are plentiful. Don't expect to find any chain hotels on the island. This makes it a bit more difficult to find a place to stay but it is also a big reason for the charm of the island. There are NO high rise buildings on Anna Maria Island although you ARE RIGHT on the wonderful Gulf of Mexico. We opted for a vacation rental on the island as there are plenty to choose from. We found our rental through VRBO but later found a fantastic rental company that actually shows truly when homes are available...I wish I found their site first since it took hours to find an available rental. We hung our hat at a great resort called Palm Isle Village. For TRUE Rental availability on Anna Maria look up Island Real Estate on Google. You have the right place if the logo is green with a shell in it. Bottom line...Their motto says it all - \Paradise without an attitude!\

FUN and EASY!I just got back from the best vacation of my life. We brought along the entire family - meaning all people of all ages - and even managed to save some packing time by renting from Fun And More Rentals - they delivered everything before we arrived and picked up all the items after we left. This was our first time here and we will be coming back!!The Sandbar was amazing the food was tasty and the sunsets breathtaking. We were able to play with the kids on the beach while waiting for dinner which made everyone happy.The Pier is a great place for fishing or meeting and talking to Locals. The boys loved fishing and spent the majority of our two week vacation on the pier while the ladies (myself included!) enjoyed the limitless suntanning. We actually rented some beach chairs from Fun And More Rentals as well they had recliners and wooden chairs... so another great convenience!The weekend before we left we chartered a boat and enjoyed the night as a big happy family which wasnt spoiled at all.We will be back to Anna Maria Island soon!!
