Panama City

Beautiful weather and sugar-white beaches are what bring people to Panama City. Surrounded by St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, the sea is a real part of life in this town, but if you stay on land long enough you'll find that the city has lots to offer besides the beach.

Bahama /Gulf /Panama City Beaches Days Inn Beach is a great place to start your tour of the city's beaches. Stop by Sunsations warehouse first to pick up beach supplies. Ripley's Believe It or Not! offers a break from the surf with their freaky-cool exhibits and rides.

Gulf Resort/ Lullwater Beaches A history of scuba diving dating back to the 16th century is housed in Museum of Man In The Sea. Fine dining and award winning wine can be had at Boar's Head Restaurant & Tavern, while Palmetto Inn & Suites and Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort offer casual fun and relaxation for the whole family. Every October the Indian Summer Festival rocks out at Frank Brown Park with musical stars such as Hootie and the Blowfish and ISIS.

While in beautiful Panama City Florida the most fun we had was taking the two hour Waverunner and Snorkel trip to \Spanish Shanty wreck site\. The 150 foot vessel was origionally a circa 1920's Tar Barge\ it rests off the northeast side of Shell Island in about 20 feet of water. We took this trip with AAA Seadoo Rentals and Tours located at the foot of the hathaway bridge @ 5611 W.Highway 98. We started out on our adventure at 10 am for the two hour trek. We arrived at the site twenty minutes later after stopping along the way to jump in the water with a small group of Dolphins what a rush!! The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. the water was so clear we had no trouble seeing the wreck and were able to take some underwater photos of the marinelife that lives on and in the wreck. There were some grouper schools of redfish and a few stingray! from there we went to the center of the pass on Shell Island and parked our Skis on a large sandbar. the water was about a foot deep and we collected almost fifty full sand dollars! We were really surprised at the natural beauty of the water and coastline. the color of the water is an emerald green very enchanting to the eye and the sand is as fine as sugar and a brillint white color. When we visit the area again we will take advantage of this company's halfday unguided rentals so that we can revisit these places again. We highly recommend this company and this trip for you and yours you will not be dissapointed.
