Waimea, Princeville, Hanalei, Bali Hai—it seems like every part of Kaua'i is legendary. The island is a place of unparalleled natural beauty, and thus far, all of the commercialization has occurred along the coastline. Although big-city dwellers occasionally complain about the lack of nightlife, most visitors feel that Kaua'i offers a near-perfect tropical getaway.
Lihue—Central Kauai The first town that one sees upon stepping off the plane is Lihue. While it isn't nearly as industrial as Honolulu, or even Kahului, it holds the County Seat and is home of the island's main airport. It also boasts the Kaua'i Museum and the only still-active sugar mill. Upon heading inland, one quickly notices civilization disappearing—replaced by jungle, waterfalls and finally near impenetrable mountains. But most people don't head inland from Lihue; instead they go in the opposite direction, toward the ocean.
There isn't far to go. The coast is just a few moments' drive away. From there, it's easy to get to one of the island's main resort districts.

We rented the Hale Plumeria for a week

The very first day the place was a mess hair all over the bathroom no sheets on the bed food all over in the kitchen floor was pretty dirty no toilet paper we had to go buy our own. towels were dirty hanging up. we call right away no answer the next afternoon the hoiusecleaner shows up and cleans for a while (real nice) she stated that we would get a call from Anna Croshaw to discuss some kind of refund to this day we have not received a phonecall nor an email to discuss our issues. If I owned rentals I would call every customer to ensure satisfaction.

Report ThisWe took advantage of the grocery service provide by Coastline Cottages. I emailed a list and our cottage was stocked for our arrival with our favorite snacks and drinks. NIce touch.
We enjoyed the short walk down the coast to the Beach House for a sunset cocktail while watching surfers catch the perfect wave. And the star watching on the way back to the cottage was incredible.
We enjoyed swimming at Poipu Beach hiking the oceanfront paths at Shipwrecks Beach and the morning guided tour of the National Tropical Botanical Garden near Spouting Horn.
We highly recommend scheduling back-to-back one hour massages. Joy brought her table to the cottage and she gave us wonderful massages to the sound of the surf. Just perfect. Ask the friendly Coastline Cottages staff for more details.
