We recently made a trip to Cherokee NC for the first time in 20 years and certainly a lot has changed. We stayed at a <a href="http://www.cherokee-cabin.com>Cherokee NC cabin rental</a> that we found by searching on AOL. It was great as we were close to the south entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and just miles away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We spent much of our time away from the cabin in the Park just checking out the beauty of the mountains.

We also visited Harrah's casino which has certainly changed Cherokee. It was a nice little break from the relaxation although it was certainly not on our original agenda. They have built a beautiful casino and resort and more relevant to us they are now building a golf resort that looks like it will be a fabulous mountain course.
We went to Asheville one day and visited the Biltmore Estate. If you have never seen it you should definitely make a visit. It is truly amazing to see what was built so many years ago.
We also tried our luck at some trout fishing. Being from Florida we are not really that good at that type of fishing but it was fun anyways. The weather was so nice we could have been doing just about anything outdoors and it would have been enjoyable. Although we didn't do any white water rafting we did take a train ride from Bryson City down to Nantahala and watched others enjoying the cool mountain waters.
But more important than what we did do was what we didn't do. We spent much of our time just relaxing on the front porch of the cabin and being thankful of all the responsibilities we had left behind us. So if you are in need of a recharge we would definitely recommend a visit to Cherokee North Carolina!
