Peace and serenity

If you have a vivid imagination and love history & love peace and serneity love to read a book Big Bend is the right place for you. Just like being in the movies memories with cowboys & Indians like Dean Martin John Wayne. Sallons where gunfire shooting happen on the top of the cannons you can hear the whistle of the wind history markers has it that it is Indians calling. Close by at night is the Marfa lights and such it does exist the farther you go to reach you'll never reach the lig... More
If you have a vivid imagination and love history & love peace and serneity love to read a book Big Bend is the right place for you. Just like being in the movies memories with cowboys & Indians like Dean Martin John Wayne. Sallons where gunfire shooting happen on the top of the cannons you can hear the whistle of the wind history markers has it that it is Indians calling. Close by at night is the Marfa lights and such it does exist the farther you go to reach you'll never reach the light. Also this is the place where Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson made the movie Giant. There is also near by the Texas A&M McDonald Obseratory. It is very far from everything but worth going such beauty in the Big Bend area with log cabins or motel to stay. Such a beautiful place at night it's like reaching the stars in the sky. Wild Life exist hiking exist. Not many car parts exist so make sure your transportation is fit. This is a lifestyle away from the city with peace & serenity. This is a place to get away from the city.

Wild and BeautifulHaving been to the Big Bend area a number of times I can attest to the remoteness and beauty. What a lot of folks don't realize is that Big Bend National Park is the site of ancient volcanic activity and the terrain and formations are made of lava. It's remote and the desert is hot in the summer - while the mountains are often mild with often daily rain showers - but its worth the drive for the outdoors enthusiast. Big Bend National Park is amazingly beautiful. However coming from the west by road you pass through Big Bend Ranch Park a state park that has mountainous terrains that are as beautiful as the National Park and are easily seen off the highway that runs next to the Rio Grande river . In the National Park the highway is not next to the river and in fact is several miles away in some cases. In either case the scenery is fantastic. In the National Park the rangers are very helpful. Big Bend National Park is amazingly beautiful. However coming from the west by road you pass through Big Bend Ranch Park a state park that has mountainous terrains that are as beautiful as the National Park and are easily seen off the highway that runs next to the Rio Grande river . In the National Park the highway is not next to the river and in fact is several miles away in some cases. In either case the scenery is fantastic. In the National Park the rangers are very helpful. Situated between the two parks is La Jitas with a surprisingly good hotel with a restaurant that is very good and golf course. It is truly a trip off the beaten path but well worth it.
