Great little town

a treasure!My grandparents lived in Smithville and my mother was born on Main Street in her parents home. The town has antique shops great places to eat and 5 bed and breakfasts. Smithville is the first Film Friendly Town in Texas. There have been 3 movies filmed here. The latest is "Tree of Life" starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. a treasure!My grandparents lived in Smithville and my mother was born on Main Street in her parents home. The town has antique shops great places to eat and 5 bed and breakfasts. Smithville is the first Film Friendly Town in Texas. There have been 3 movies filmed here. The latest is "Tree of Life" starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. The town has beautiful old homes and large trees. Main Street has the Railroad tracks and the Raillroad museum at one end and the Colorado River at the other. Two state parks are near by. We love to visit this little town. We try to visit two or three times a year. This last time we kayaked down the Colorado River 6 miles. It was beautiful and the trip took 2 hours. Perfect for a new kayaker!
