6.Architecture and Culture mix

I was on a trip with my 2 best friends on a 3 set destination to Budapest Vienna and Prague. Vienna by far was my FAVORITE city out of all that I've been to in Europe! It has beautiful architecture including palaces churches museums and the design of the city itself. It's a wonderful place for family destinations or friends that desire to travel together. I was on a trip with my 2 best friends on a 3 set destination to Budapest Vienna and Prague. Vienna by far was my FAVORITE city out of all that I've been to in Europe! It has beautiful architecture including palaces churches museums and the design of the city itself. It's a wonderful place for family destinations or friends that desire to travel together. The city is perfectly safe and we felt at ease walking on the streets at night. The food is a culture shock and Vienna is well known for its many delictable desserts. The Opera House is open year round and you can take a tour of the whole theatre including back stage (which is huge). During the Opera season you can buy tickets but it fills up pretty quickly. Moreover the Viennese waltz was born there and couples can find a place to go out for a night of dinner and dancing. Although the city itself is one of the most EXPENSIVE so be prepared to spend a good amount of money if you want to go to certain places. But you are able to find some places that are compromising and in my opinion if you want to visit the city go with a tour group because they can get you to see the most amount of things under a certain budget. All in all when you step out onto the streets of Vienna you'll feel like a different person and enjoy yourself very much.

HAVE BEEN THERE THREE TIMES. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL THOUGH VERY EXPENSIVE.FOOD IS FABULOUS AND MOZART MUSIC IN THE STREETS. DANUBE VINYARD TOURS ARE WELL WORTH IT AND ARCHITECTURE TO DIE FOR. TAKE HORSE AND CARRIAGE TOUR OF THE OLD TOWN. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHOPPING MALL OUTSIDE OF CITY. IT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST IN EUROPE.... More

There are no words in any language to describe this wonderful city. I rated the shopping four stars solely because I didn't have time to do much shopping (mostly antiques) but it seemed that most every store I've ever seen or brand I've ever heard of was represented there. Every other category I rated has to be a five.... More

10.Vienna - Something for Everyone

Vienna is unsurpassed in its culture food and more importantly its diversity. In the same block travelers can enjoy traditional Austrian food sushi and McDonalds. One can shop at Gucci the Gap or antique shops. Stay near Karntnerstrasse so you can walk to everything. Don't miss the Bermuda Triangle for nightlife but leave a trail of breadcrumbs. I'm not kidding. It was a ten-minute walk there and a two-hour walk home. The people were so friendly. I was walking the streets with a map one day and a local thought I looked lost. I told him I was just exploring and he took it upon himself to show me his favorite places and then take me out for coffee. I wandered into a salon without an appointment to have my nails done. They took me right away and were fabulous. Plus the salon was in one of Mozart's apartments so you can take in some history and get a nice manicure at the same time. The galleries and chruches are incredible. I sat in on a wedding at St. Stephens and organ practice (Bach) at another church. Finally and by all means be sure to see the Habsburg Crown Jewels even if you are only in town for a layover. I guarantee you will run out of descriptors and realize why gold is a precious metal (because it's all in there) before you leave. Most people exited into the bright light just uttering a hushed \wow\ they were so out of words. I'm looking forward to my next trip which I will schedule around the Opera and the Lipizzan Stallions.
