What the hell are you talking about Terrioleary1??? I am Puerto Rican and I just came back from Vieques in February and it was simply BEAUTIFUL! It was untouched and definitely NOT spoiled. They have done major clean up since the Navy left and it appears as if they were never there in the first place! Please do go Visit Vieques and the Island of Culebra. Leave the Island when the last ferry comes in so you get to see the sunset from the Port. Its simply Stunning. ... More

2.A fantastic Island

My wife and I just returned the first week of April from Vieques. We traveled throughout the Island except for couple of the numerous beautiful beaches being the roads were closed due to construction. The beaches were beautiful and some of the best we've been to in the Caribbean and at times we had complete beaches to ourselves. The food was the surprise. Every dinner was a new pleasant surprise and some of the best foods ever expereinced. We saw no trash as earlier mentioned to other than ... More

The beaches were beautiful and some of the best we've been to in the Caribbean and at times we had complete beaches to ourselves. The food was the surprise. Every dinner was a new pleasant surprise and some of the best foods ever expereinced. We saw no trash as earlier mentioned to other than what you would normally see. We experienced no crime however if anything is a deterrent crime will be the cause. After reading some of the reviews I wondered if we were on the same Isle of Vieques. We can't wait to return but keep this place a secret. Once tourism finds it Vieques will lose its quaintness.

I don't know where you got your previous reviews but Vieques is a rocky beach full of beer bottles and the surrounding full of disposable diapers soda bottles and all the residuals of foods utilized in picnics it remainds me of Orchard Beach New York even though the sceneic view from far is beautiful once you get close one can really garsp the abuse and dirtyness of the beach.... 4.The Ultimate Getaway

I was once stationed at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads and I can say from experience Isla Vieques is like the Virgin Islands without the crowds. The people of of Vieques were some of the most friendly people I've ever met in my travels and were more than willing to share with me the history and scenery of the island. If you want to see a great sight watch the leatherback sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Their nesting grounds are protected by the Commonwealth and U.S. governments. No... More

Not a bad place to go for a honeymoon either with the phosphorescent bays and all.
