The pictures looked so gorgeous that I spent my one and only week vacation booked at a hotel on the beach. What a disappointment it was! The lack of visible marine life was most distressing; there were no sea shells to be found, no seaweed washed ashore at any time of day, and very few birds visited the water. The beach was so filthy the sand looked dingy gray/black, though you could see tan colored sand in the tire treads from the 'beach combers' (IMO, those trucks probably drive across the san ... i live in va bch, 15 mins from the beach area. The hotels are not $99.00 starting out, more like 140 and up.. unless you go in october -may, the beach there isnt all that great, sandbrige is better. Pretty pricey living here... ... Read Full Review | Report This

I'm a born and raised Virginia Beach native and I can't say anything bad about it. I love the warm weather practically all year round, and it's cool to say I'm from one of the richest cities in America! If you're a fishing enthusiast or an outdoors type of person, Va Beach is really a good place for you. Tons of state parks with miles of hiking trails, beautiful beaches, thousands of charter fishing boats that leave out of the many beautiful inlets, plus the largest estuary in the world is in ...
