I'm a born and raised Virginia Beach native and I can't say anything bad about it. I love the warm weather practically all year round, and it's cool to say I'm from one of the richest cities in America! If you're a fishing enthusiast or an outdoors type of person, Va Beach is really a good place for you. Tons of state parks with miles of hiking trails, beautiful beaches, thousands of charter fishing boats that leave out of the many beautiful inlets, plus the largest estuary in the world is in our backyard, the Chesapeake Bay. The Oceanfront area is absolutely gorgeous and has plenty of vacation homes available all summer. The Oceanfront is great for the night owls too with clubs and bars all along the strip. Then there's the historical lighthouses and plantation homes, plus museums and aqauriums. Va Beach is really just a great place, all around. It's got the large city feel with the highest population of all Virginia's cities but has many secret and quiet spots that are great for sitting back and relaxing (look for Sandbridge Beach and Chicks Beach). It's one of the richest cities in America for all the high rollers, The Oceanfront has a strict "no cursing" policy to keep the family appeal but at night serves as a wonderful place for the bar-goers with lots of local musicians, plenty of history, plenty of parks, beautiful scenery, and of cousre, one of the nicest beaches in the world. Va Beach is a place that is definitely worth checking out, and in my opinion, worth moving to. Come and see!
