I guess it is confusing that there are two Virginia Cities one in NV & MT. Virginia City Mt. is full of my families myfamily's history as it was a distant relative Dr. Donald L. Byam that was Judge of the Miner's Court and sentenced and carried out about 30 executions. Virginia City and Adler Gultch are located about 1 mile from each other. I believe that Virginia City and Madison County Montana are amoung the most beautiful places in the State.

HISTORIC AND FUN PLACE TO VISITMy wife and I visit South Lake Tahoe every year and almost every year we take a trip to Virginia cty to just look around. Our favorite stop is The Bucket of Blood Saloon. Good popcorn often a good band lots of cold beer and one of the best Bloody Mary's around and I am an expert on Bloody Mary's. On a clear day you can look out the back window and see for a hundred miles. Don't forget to purchase a Bucket of Blood shot glass it will always remind you of Virgin... More

Our favorite stop is The Bucket of Blood Saloon. Good popcorn often a good band lots of cold beer and one of the best Bloody Mary's around and I am an expert on Bloody Mary's. On a clear day you can look out the back window and see for a hundred miles. Don't forget to purchase a Bucket of Blood shot glass it will always remind you of Virginia city where Hoss Cartrite Little Joe and the rest of the Bonanza cowboys would go to on weekends.

Lots of neat little shops with antiques and western items. Another stop is the Silver Dollar Saloon. The Silver Dollar Lady has a dress made of humdreds and hundreds of silver dollars. This is a must see.

There is an old steam engine train ride that takes you through a tunnel back to where one of the mines was and many other points of interest including historic hotels saloons and even an old west jail.

I would advise going early and just taking your time to walk up and down mainstreet stop in at the musuem on the southside of down get an ice ccream cone maybe a good burger at one of the restaurants and just marvel at how things were over a hundred years ago.

Enough see you in lat July for Hot August nights in Reno.
