Its true that Fiji is a "developing" country and crime in the cities may happen from time to time, but don't let that stop you from visiting this idylic island paradise. This past summer my wife and I spent a week diving at the outstanding Beqa Lagoon Resort, several days pampering ourselves at the Shangri La Resort on Vitu Levu and on a four day cruise in the Yasawa Islands with Blue Lagoon Cruises. Fabulous Fiji

My husband and I spend five weeks traveling in the South Pacific, including Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. It was the trip of a lifetime and the time we spent in Fiji was wonderful. I cannot say enough about the Fijian people. Their culture is fascinating and they love to share it with visitors. Don't miss the cava experience. Highly recommend a trip to an outlying island.
