I have been a "native" Washingtonian for 15 years now. I regret is that I did not get here sooner. If I can offer some advice; The Smithsonian never ceases to amaze. I have heard Europeans say D.C. is the greatest art museum city on earth - 7 of the 19 various museums of the Smithsonian are art galleries. The good news is that in the last 10 years or so, what used to be a rough part of downtown (sometimes called "old downtown", or "eastern downown) is back with a vengeance. The new Verizon are ... DC - The Intelligent Choice

I have been traveling to DC regularly for the past 20 years, and I don't think there is a city in the country that can match it for great museums, a treasure trove of professional theatres, amazing art galleries and bright, connected people. Picnic tables are located in the National Grove of State Trees designated picnic area. ... Read Full Review | Report This

Metro is not "cheap" by public transportation standards, and certainly not if you don't use it right! There's "cheap" and there's cheap. Metro is (arguably) the finest subway system in North America -- for good reason. It's in our national capital! It needs to have cathedral-esque stations and spotless everything. It's a Lexus in a Yugo world. But there are ways to drive a Lexus on a Yugo budget! Metro charges time- and distance-sensitive fares. If you ride 40 miles, you're going to pay more t ... DC compared to other Major Cities

I have been to many major American cities including New York, Philly, Baltimore, Chicago, Orlando, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Comparitively D.C. is definetly the top city for free Museums as any musuem that is part of the Smithsonian does not charge any fee. However it also has the most confusing metro system I have ever ridden-cost aside understanding all the lines and having to take multiple lines to a destination can get confusing. Plus side is that it goes pretty far outside the city its ... Read Full Review | Report This
