Having lived near Williamsburg all my life it is one of my favoriate places. Just the ride there on the Colonial Parkway starts to bring you back in history. When you arrive at Colonial Williamsburg, please give it it's due. Remember it was the center of the beginning of our Country. When you arrive at Colonial Williamsburg, please give it it's due. Remember it was the center of the beginning of our Country. Great people walked the streets and sat at the tables while planning our freedom.Don't over look the shops at Merchants Square, of course the Outlet Malls, and sample the local fare that the restaurants have to offer. Near Busch Gardens try the Sportman Restaurant, near Rt. 199 and Rt. 5 Backfin Restaurant, best crab cakes around, made with Bonniville Crab meat, near the Pottery, New York Deli is the best this side of NY. Don't forget the Great Wolf Lodge for a great family get a way. Nice rooms resonable price for what you get, and fun in the water park for everyone. Don't forget to check out Jamestown Settlement and the Jamestown Pie Company along the way. Need some groceries, The Fresh Market is a wonderful choice. How about some Oriental fare, PeKing Restaurant near K-mart can't be beat. Remember to visit Yorktown Battlefield, and the beach along the York River. There dine ant the Rivers Inn at the Motel on the beach. Every Wed through Sunday, recipes from the old Nick's Restaurant are prepared as if Mr and Mrs. Nick were right there turning the spoon. Yum. The Seafood Shiskabob and the Lobster Dien Bien will melt in your mouth. Enjoy Williamsburg and the surrounding areas, but show some respect please after all our first President walked those streets and who knows who might just be walking them today! ENJOY

3.Williamsburg has history
If you like camping stay at the KOA. It is easy to get around the area and not far from the interstate and shopping areas. It can be center base for all the nearby sights, including Johnstown and Yorktown. Colonial Willamsburg is a sight to see. Also go down near the College of William and Mary and you will find many great small shops and restuarants. ... More

4.Also see Yorktown
For those tourist who are sightseeing Williamsburg and Jamestown, you might as well see Yorktown, where the American Revolutionary War ended. It was there that Lord General Cornwallis and his forces were trapped by the continental army and by the French navy, which blockaded the mouth of the York River. Having the Redcoats bottled up, George Washington demanded an unconditional surrender. The terms of surrender were worked out at the Moore House. To get to Yorktown from Jamestown or Williamsburg... To get to Yorktown from Jamestown or Williamsburg, take the Colonial Parkway east. The Parkway ends in Yorktown. U.S Route 17 also goes through Yorktown.

5.Truely Wonderful .......Live the History
I first visited when we meet my In-laws for a short family get away in 2003. Went back as a leader for a homeschool fieldtrip in 2004,because I wanted to share the experience. No trip to Colonial Wiliamsburg is complete until you have sit down and listened to one of the historic inturpretors like Patrick Henry on the garden of the Govenor's Palace as we did. If you were to ask the kids or their parents(even today) their favorite part they would say " Patric Henry". Walk the streets ... More

Walk the streets that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson walked and become part of the history. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is great place to take a break from History and let the kids of all ages have fun of a differnt kind.
