Sometimes there's just nothing like taking the family on a fun-filled vacation where smiles never leave their faces and there's a new adventure around every bend. That's exactly the kind of vacation you can expect with a trip to the Wisconsin Dells. To put it in a word, Wisconsin Dells attractions are just plain fun!

You can expect your family to be thrilled nearly every minute of their visit to this gorgeous vacation spot in the mid-west. Adventures in the spectacular forests, action-packed activities, relaxing sunset river cruises and laughter-inducing theme parks are just a few of the reasons why so many families are discovering one of the most rewarding vacation destinations in America, the Wisconsin Dells!

Visiting Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells vacations have become a family favorite thanks to the endless fun activities and beautiful location. Only about an hour north of Madison, the Wisconsin Dells is famous for its beautiful rivers and towering bluffs.

Visitors wishing to fly into the Wisconsin Dells will have to catch a flight to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison and drive the rest of the way to the Dells. Of course, Amtrak also services the Wisconsin Dells and families looking to arrive by car can get there by following Interstate 90/94.

What to Do in Wisconsin Dells

Perhaps it should read, “What can't you do in Wisconsin Dells?” There are so many family friendly things to do in the Dells that deciding what to do first could be your biggest hurdle.

There's nothing like taking a ride on an Original Wisconsin Duck! No, not the feathered kind, but the massive land/water vehicle made by the Army. Enjoy a bumpy ride of adventure before getting wet as the Duck takes to the water! Or, try the exhilarating speed of the Wildthing Jet Boat ride. If you like your rides on dry land, then take a Monster truck ride at Monster Truck World, it shouldn’t be missed.

In Wisconsin Dells, water parks abound and theme parks are aplenty. Some of the must-visit parks include Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park, Noah's Ark Waterpark, Timber Falls Adventure Park and Riverview Park & Waterworld. Plus, traditional favorites like Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum! can also be found in Wisconsin Dells.

The Wisconsin Dells is a great place to vacation any time of year, even winter! Many of the theme parks have indoor facilities away from the cold white stuff and skiing is second nature in Wisconsin!

Where to Stay in Wisconsin Dells

In a vacation hotspot like the Wisconsin Dells, you can expect plenty of choices for your family's accommodations. From inexpensive chain hotels and motels to more luxurious accommodations, whatever your budget allows for, you can find exactly what you need.

A great example of comfort and quality at a great price is the Super 8 Wisconsin Dells, where only $50 per night gets you a cozy room. The Super 8 is only a short drive from many of the area's incredible attractions like Circus World Museum and many others. The hotel features a heated swimming pool and they start your day off right with complimentary coffee and pastries.

Took 4 grandsons to the Dells for three days. The boys are: 16 1413 & 11. This is our third trip and we stay at Mt Olympus Resort. While Lake Delton in gone the resort was in fine shape. My grandsons had a wonderful time and are talking about next summer. I highly recommend the Dells as a great family vacation. While the area caters to tourists you still can pick and choose activities without a hassle.Since the room has a refrigerator we bring food for breakfast and lunch snacks and pop to save ... More
