Xi'an, China Reviews and Ratings

We spent three weeks in China last Fall. I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed the whole experience. Xi'an was one of many highlights and the Terra Cotta Warriors are spectacular. We were given a private tour of the facilities before the place opened for the day. We traveled in a small group (7, all Americans) with Imperial Tours. The City of Xi'an isnt so unique. It is large, congested and dirty but definitely becoming more modern. We were treated like old friends by the Chinese, and the food and accomodations were among the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. We used Imperial Tours (San Francisco) and they really know what they are doing. It was pricey, around $30,000 all in, but it was all five star hotels and gourmet dining, business class airfare, etc. Local tour guides spoke excellent English, were very knowledgeable, and worked very hard to please. Geesh, I am gushing. Just go if you get a chance. You wont regret it.

We visited Xian two years ago and were in awe viewing the terra cotta soldiers. I't was difficult to leave. It will be etched in my memory forever. That is the only part of Xian that really stands out in my memory. However we were in China for 20 days and enjoyed each place we visited including the people, food, hotels, hospitality and of course the shopping.
