Walk along the Duero to view the ancient walls and the Puente de Piedras. Walk through the town and see where Franco jailed the rebel priests. Ask about the mutiny of the trout and the heralds who blew the merlu and why it was here that El Cid got his name. Visit the small beautiful welcoming churches. Outside of town visit the enchanting tiny Visigothic church built in the shape of a cross--San Pedro de la Nave.
