This is a popular restaurant and cafe offering fine Egyptian cuisine in pleasant surroundings. Dine in the restaurant or the adjacent outdoor cafe. The former offers handsome traditional surroundings, while the latter is an airy terrace (covered in winter) with large tables overlooking the square. The menu offers excellent Egyptian dishes: the dips with baladi bread and thick lentil soup make great appetizers. The usual kebab and kofte fare are listed, as are many lesser known dishes. Ask your waiter to explain, or else just experiment. Save room for dessert: the Om Ali is delicious. Beer and extra rich shisha (waterpipe) are also served.
