Gourmandise (La), Cairo

Dine in elegance in, of all places, a shopping mall. This is not your ordinary mall, and neither is the exquisite menu prepared by French chef David Boulouys. Diners sit at marble tables amidst greenery on the edge of an inviting pool. Aquamarine columns soar three stories high to buoy the domed glass ceiling that creates the illusion of an outdoor setting. This elegant, airy setting is a microcosm of its own, and the service is very attentive. Salads are artistically created from the freshest garden ingredients and enhanced with sweet herbal dressings. The Croque Monsieur sandwich comes highly recommended, as does the Campagnard. Heavenly entrees are attentively prepared. Save room for the peach brioche!
