Perfect for afternoon tea and indulging a sweet tooth, The Barnyard is a combination of rural farm stall and tea garden. Not unexpectedly the theme is rustic, right down to the tame rabbits and poultry on the loose, and old farm vehicles dotted about. Tables are outside, making it preferable to visit on fine days. Expect hearty breakfasts, light lunches, rich cakes and the full range of teas and coffees. Inside they stock a collection of tempting home-baked goodies from South African staples such as melktert (a type of cake) to wicked chocolate cakes and Italian olive bread. Fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs are also available.
