Clock Tower, Cape Town

Located at the V&A Waterfront, one of the most visited destinations in all of South Africa, the Clock Tower is an iconic focal point of this historic area. Originally the Port Captain's Office, visitors to the Tower can see a true restoration of many of the implements that were used when the waterfront functioned as a busy port, such as the second floor mirror room and the bottom floor tide-gouge mechanism. But even from a distance, this is one attraction that is a sight to behold. With its unmistakably Victorian Gothic facade, the Tower stands out against the surrounding urban redevelopment, a testament to Cape Town's proud maritime history.
