Klein Libertas is one of the most well-known and popular venues amongst young people in Stellenbosch. Open since 1960 this concert venue and bar certainly has a history of bringing in amazing artists. Located just a few minutes walk from the main campus of Stellenbosch University, this venue has amazing concerts several times every week featuring South Africa’s finest bands. Due to the majority of students being Afrikaans speakers, be certain to visit the website to see who is playing. Klein Libertas has a cash bar serving beers, ciders, wine, and a limited selection of spirits. In addition to food there are often freshly baked pizzas available. The inside venue is intimate and perfect for crowds under 500. Larger shows can housed outside on the lawn. This venue is also available for functions, parties, or private shows.
