When Laurille Krug and Lynne Aberdeen decided to put their passions together and start Olivello Restaurant, they hoped but didn't expect it to take off the way it did. Laurille and Lynne, wine connoisseur and food lover respectively have created a warm, inviting space for people who want to get together and celebrate over good food and drink. The open and airy restaurant located in a farm, amongst green hills and gentle waterways, serves delicious, lip smacking Mediterranean cuisine and what the locals call Cape comfort food. Every Sunday the restaurant sets up a Sunday Mediterranean Table that has a reputation that precedes it. Do try the spicy crab and sweetcorn cakes with sweet chilli mayonnaise or even the whole baked linefish seasoned with sale aromatica and garlic herb butter or maybe sink into a Moroccan lamb tagine braised with North African spices, coconut milk and coriander.
